Dance for Everyone

Extended dance learning for students, professional development for teachers and expert training for aspiring dancers - we offer plenty of opportunities for everyone to get involved in contemporary dance.

Our programs help students and young people to develop an understanding and appreciation of dance, and encourage learners of all ages and experiences to participate in dance activities. Connect with our dancers through performances in schools, school matinees and post show discussions, workshops, classes and residencies. EDC fosters a greater awareness of dance, encouraging cultural growth and skill developement with young people throughout Queensland and Australia.

EDC’s Brisbane Contemporary Dance Intensive is specifically designed for dancers who are currently in, or aspiring to be in, professional vocational training. EDC Performance and Workshop Packages are great way for dance students to get the most out of a professional dance performance. For only $25, students can enjoy a season performance, participate in a contemporary dance workshop right in their school grounds, and access resources to build on their experience back in the classroom. All you need to do is ask

We have a flexible and wide-ranging program. Whenever possible we try to meet the individual needs of teachers, students and community participants.  These are just some of the things we can do:

  • Bring students to watch morning company class– $7 per student
  • Bring students to watch a rehearsal of a new work in progress in our studio - $7 per student
  • Hire a workshop facilitator to devise a special program at your school or  choreograph a new work with your students

 

  
  Touring to Schools

Queensland Arts Council's Ontour inschools and Expressions Dance Company present educational dance performances in primary and secondary schools throughout Queensland. EDC travels to schools to perform for students in their classroom environment. EDC is not touring in 2010 but keep a look out for us in regional Queensland in 2011! ...Read More
