Fragments of Memory & On Thin Ice A Double Bill FRAGMENTS OF MEMORY Choregraphed by Cheng Tsung Lung (Taiwan) A former dancer with the world renowned Cloud Gate Dance Company Fragments of Memory is a dynamic, contemporary, physically powerful piece of dance unlike any work that has been performed in the past by Expressions Dance Company. It is a visceral and physically demanding dance piece driven by pulsing undercurrents of emotions. Cheng has created a work that pushes the physical boundaries of contemporary dance. Unleashing the inner dialogue and turmoil found within, through a powerful and detailed physicality. The influence of his Taiwanese culture can be seen in the facial and body movements of the piece. Cheng Tsung Lung, is an International Choreographer and his works have been performed at the World Dance Alliance in 2005 . He won a Bronze Medal at the first International Choreography Competition in Ludwigshafe, Germany in 2006. ON THIN ICE , choregraphed by Company Artistic Director, Maggi Sietsma, fuses movement, film, text and atmospheric sound into a compelling, visually rich and physically exciting dance work which looks at the dysfunctional mix of science, nature and humanity.
